Number of times I ran out of gas: 1
Cute animals that nearly became roadkill: 4 (woodchuck, opossum, deer and white cat in Lawton, Iowa)
Animals caught re-enacting their own "Why did he cross the road?" jokes: 2 (woodchuck at attention and opossum in headlights, both on Rt. 20)
